The City Clerk serves as the local supervisor of elections, in conjunction and coordination with the Orange County Supervisor of Elections.

General Municipal Election:  March 19, 2024  Held concurrently with the Federal Presidential Preference Primary.

UNOPPOSED CANDIDATE DECLARED ELECTED

As of today, Thursday November 30, 2023, there is only one (1) qualified and eligible candidate for the March 19, 2024, General Municipal Election. Pursuant to Section 8.04 of the City Charter the candidate filed not less than 50 Candidate Petitions by the November 17 filing deadline. No less than 50 Candidate Petitions were verified as valid by the Orange County Supervisor of Elections and a Candidate Petition Certification was issued, making said candidate eligible to qualify. 

The candidate successfully qualified on November 30, 2023. Pursuant to Section 8.03 (a) of the City Charter, in the event not more than one person qualifies as a candidate for mayor, such candidate shall be declared elected without the necessity of being voted upon in the general city election.

Candidate Qualifying officially closed Thursday November 30, 2023, @ 11:15 AM. In accordance with above mentioned sections of the City Charter and applicable laws and statutes.

Mayor-Elect John P. Lowndes will be administered the Oath of Office at the beginning of the May 13, 2024, City Council meeting.

2024 BALLOT LANGUAGE 

VOTER REGISTRATION, VOTE BY MAIL and EARLY VOTING 


Voter registration books will close Tuesday, February 20, 2024, for the upcoming March 19, 2024, Maitland General Municipal Election.  Individuals desiring to register to vote may do so at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections, located at 119 West Kaley Street, Orlando, FL 32806, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. or online at www.ocfelections.gov .

Maitland residents may update their Voter Registration online at  https://www.ocfelections.gov/register-vote-or-update-registration

Vote-by-mail ballot requests expire after each federal general election cycle. Therefore, all vote-by-mail requests expired on December 31, 2023. To begin or continue vote-by-mail ballots, call Orange County Supervisors of Elections at 407-836-8683 or online at https://www.ocfelections.gov/vote-by-mail.

Early voting is available at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections office, 119 W. Kaley St. Orlando, FL, 32806, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Monday, March 4, 2024 thru Sunday, March 17, 2024. For more information visit the Orange County Supervisor of Elections website.   **There are 20 locations for early voting**

LOGIC AND ACCURACY TESTS

The Orange County Supervisor of Elections will conduct public, pre-election tests of the automatic tabulating equipment used at the polls on Thursday, February 22, 2024. 

The tests will be conducted in the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Warehouse, located at 119 West Kaley Street, Orlando, Florida, at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

The tests are open to the public and you are welcome to attend.
