The City Clerk serves as the local supervisor of elections, in conjunction and coordination with the Orange County Supervisor of Elections.
General Municipal Election: March 14, 2023
CANDIDATE FOR ELECTION: The Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository for Candidates form (DS-DE 9) and the Statement of Candidate form (DS-DE 84) must both be filed with the City Clerk before you begin to actively campaign, includes solicit signatures for petition forms and accept / expend any campaign contributions.
QUALIFICATIONS OF CANDIDATE AND OATH: Must file with the City Clerk not less than fifty (50) Candidate Petition forms (DS-DE 104) subscribed to by qualified electors of the city and take the Candidate Oath (DS-DE 302NP) with the City Clerk. The qualifying period begins no sooner than 12:00 Noon, Monday January 23, 2023, and concludes at 12:00 Noon, Friday January 27, 2023. The City Clerk's Office will be open on Friday January 27, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. - 12 Noon, for Candidate Qualifying only. Candidates must be residents of the City of Maitland for the six-month period prior to qualifying and must designate the council seat desiring, City Council Seat number # 2 or # 4, on each petition. Additional documents to be completed when qualifying the Statement of Financial Interests (CE FORM 1) and Accuracy and Logic Testing / Final Inspection @ Orange County Supervisor of Elections (OC SOE).
City Council members may serve two, three-year terms.

The General Municipal Election of the City of Maitland, Florida, will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, for City Council Seat # 2 and City Council Seat # 4.
The candidate qualifying period officially begins at Noon on Monday January 23, 2023, and closes at Noon on Friday January 27, 2023. The City Clerk's Office will be open on Friday January 27, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. - 12 Noon, for Candidate Qualifying only.

VOTER REGISTRATION, VOTE BY MAIL and EARLY VOTING
Voter registration books will close on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. for the upcoming March 14, 2023, Maitland General Municipal Election. Maitland residents who wish to participate in this election must be on the Orange County books before the cut-off date.
Maitland residents may Register or update their Voter Registration online at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov.

LOGIC AND ACCURACY TESTS
The Orange County Supervisor of Elections will conduct public, pre-election tests of the automatic tabulating equipment used at the polls on Tuesday March 14, 2023.
The tests will be conducted in the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Warehouse, located at 119 West Kaley Street, Orlando, Florida, at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday March 2, 2023.
The tests are open to the public and you are welcome to attend.
