• Maitland City Hall, administrative offices and parks will close Wednesday and Thursday in preparation for Hurricane Milton.
• Residential garbage and recycling will be collected Tuesday for those scheduled customers and yard waste will be collected Wednesday pending availability of local landfills. Updates will be provided during the week.
For proper collection, yard debris must be placed in bags or garbage collection bins behind the street curb and weighing no more than 50 pounds each. Large limbs should be tied together in bundles measuring no longer than 4 feet. Oversized, unbundled or very large limbs may not be collected.
• Beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, city residents can call (407) 457-5211 to ask storm-related questions or to report problems. For emergencies, please call 9-1-1.
• Self-serve sandbags will be available to City of Maitland residents from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Maitland Community Park, 1400 Mayo Ave. Limit 10 bags per household.
The entrance to the park can be accessed from Mayo Avenue at Orlando Avenue, just south of the Maitland Boulevard overpass. Residents must show a utility bill, driver’s license or other proof of residency.

• Orange County general population emergency shelters open at 6 p.m. Tuesday. For information, visit www.ocfl.net/Milton
• Maitland Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and closed Wednesday and Thursday.
• The Art and History Museums of Maitland will close Wednesday and Thursday.
• SunRail service is suspended.
