[ARCHIVED] Storm Debris Update - Sept. 29

debris

Reminder:

Homeowners are responsible for cleaning up yard debris including tree limbs on their properties following high winds from Hurricane Helene.

The City of Maitland collects yard debris on Wednesdays. It is very important to follow these guidelines to ensure proper pickup:

Place yard debris behind your curb for pick-up. Do not put it in the street.

Yard debris may be placed in bags or containers weighing no more than 50 pounds each or tied together in bundles measuring no longer than 4 feet to ensure proper curbside pickup.

Curbside waste containers may be used, but yard waste should not be mixed with household garbage or recycling.

Scattered tree limbs in the street will not be collected.

Oversized, unbundled or very large limbs may not be collected. Landscape or tree trimming contractors may take large amounts of limbs and yard waste directly to the Seminole County Central Transfer Station at 1950 State Road 419 in Longwood.

To schedule special collections through the City of Maitland, please contact the Utility Billing Division at (407) 539-6265 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays.

Do not mix yard debris with other garbage at the curb.

Concerned about damaging your grass? Place the debris at the end of your driveway.

Make sure that vehicles do not block storm debris piles. Also, do not place debris piles next to signs, poles, trees or above-ground utility boxes.
