[ARCHIVED] Yard Waste Collection

Debris Truck

Two kinds of yard debris collection are available to Maitland residents following Hurricane Milton. It is important to properly place yard debris at the curb for pickup.

Citywide collections also are expected to take several weeks to complete due to large amounts of debris caused by the storm. Please be patient.

Large yard debris:

  • This pickup by the city’s contracted hurricane hauler is best for large, loose yard debris piles or large tree limbs.
  • Piles must include only vegetative yard waste – no garbage bags or other materials (i.e household waste, fencing, play equipment etc.). Piles mixed with non-vegetative waste cannot be picked up by this hauler.
  • Piles should be placed away from mailboxes, street lights, storm drains, underground water meter boxes or parked vehicles.
  • Must be large piles of yard debris. Neighbors can combine smaller piles to make a large pile.

Small yard debris:

  • This pickup through Waste Pro’s weekly yard waste collection is best for smaller amounts of yard debris that are prepared for collection. No loose piles.
  • Small branches and loose leaves must be bagged or placed in curbside collection containers weighing no more than 50 pounds each.
  • Tree limbs should be tied together in bundles measuring no longer than 4 feet.
  • Separate yard waste from non-vegetative debris (i.e household waste, fencing, play equipment etc.).

Residents and businesses also can take their own yard waste directly to the Seminole County Central Transfer Station at 1950 State Road 419 in Longwood. Please show proof of residency.

Orange County has the following drop-off sites for non-commercial yard waste, including leaves, branches, and other natural debris from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sunday.  The sites will accept only loose vegetative debris—no bags or containers. Please show proof of residency.

  • Harrell Road – 8503 Trevarthon Road, Orlando, FL 32817
