[ARCHIVED] Road Resurfacing

The City of Maitland will begin construction next week to resurface streets in several residential neighborhoods.

Work will include 13 streets beginning Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 3-4, on Lake Faith Circle and part of Lake Shore Drive west of Maitland Avenue. Scheduled dates could change with inclement weather.

The project will move Wednesday to Friday, Nov. 5-7, to cover an area on the north side of Lake Sybelia including Pryde Drive, Glengarry Circle, Wolsey Drive, Baldwins Court and part of North Lake Sybelia Drive west of Wolsey Drive.

A large part of construction is scheduled Nov. 10-13, weather permitting, to include Sandspur Road between Maitland Avenue and Bucher Road, Hillcrest Avenue, West Sybelia Avenue, Hope Terrace, Cliffwood Court, Faith Street and Bucher Road. Repaving of Sandspur Road is limited to two days - Nov. 12-13.

Work will begin at 7 a.m. each day, closing one lane at a time within the construction areas. The existing asphalt will be milled down before new asphalt is applied.

The necessary road work aims to reduce impacts on homeowners as much as possible.

Street parking is not permitted in these areas during resurfacing. Vehicles on the street are subject to be towed at the owners’ expense. Access to residential driveways immediately after paving will be restricted for up to two hours while the new asphalt cures.

Residents are urged to monitor paving activities. City contractors will be on site to coordinate with residents on paving days. Drivers should use extra caution, slow down and follow directions from street paving crews.

Maitland recently completed roadway resurfacing in two other areas – the Winfield at Maitland Park neighborhood off of Fennell Street and The Hamlet at Maitland neighborhood off of Monroe Avenue.
